Sulphuric acid mist is produced resulting from the reactive of water and SO3, which forms a collection of finely distributed drops. These drops are used based on their size and/or their number to obtain the measure of the sulphur trioxide content.The amount of the steam to be supplied is so measured, that a low relative humidity results, in order to ensure that the resulting drops only originate from the gas phase reaction of SO3 + H20. The sample gas is heated up to at least 160 deg.C + 5 K.
