The procedure consists of measuring variations in the temperature and/or mass of a sample of a substance, subjecting it to a flow of radiation in an appropriate reactor, the flow comprising a rich radiation and infrared radiation which braises an appropriate electrical resistance to incandescence. The sample is subjected to a radiation flow obtained by raising a refractory material to a high temperature by an electric power source, using a reactor comprising the radiation source (1), a sample holder (4) and walls to limit the extent of and concentrate the radiation. The support is made from a stainless metal or refractory material with a structure suitable for an air or gas feed and with access for measuring instruments, and it is linked mechanically to a sensor for measuring and recording variations in the sample's mass during heating.
