The system includes a number of infrared message transmission terminals (2), and a message source (1) which supplies the terminals. A portable transceiver (3) can receive information from any of the terminals and controls the supply of messages from the message source via the transmission terminals. Supply is effected by time frames (28) with allocation of frame portions to the respective message. A memory (27) with an addressing system (24) allows multiple addressing of memory which is read under control of individual terminals.
