Real-time determination system for ball and players position on sport pitch

The position determination system has a tracking system (1) which includes very small radio emitters placed in the ball and on each player and at least three receivers to determine each position in 3-D (2,3,4). The emitters range determines the number of receivers required to cover the whole pitch. Alternatively one or more cameras with digital image control can determine the positions. Information is conveyed to a processor which analyses it and stores result for e.g providing statistics, match state and tactic. The information can also be used later on for training purposes. The system also informs a referee in real time about any controversial situation, by visual or sound channels (9,10).
