PURPOSE: To open or close an umbrella with one hand by connecting the base ends of ribs and the upper end of a connecting member in a shank to a piston, connecting the lower end of the connecting member to a connecting ring stored in a handle, connecting the connecting ring to a lever via an elastic member A, and providing an elastic member B on the lower side of the piston. ;CONSTITUTION: When lever 9 is pulled to a handle 6, a connecting ring 7 is pressed down by a connecting portion against an elastic member A 8, a connecting member 5 is pulled down in a shank 4, a piston 1 is lowered in a cylinder 2 while compressing an elastic member B 10, base ends 3 of ribs 11 are pressed down, and the tips of the ribs 11 are jumped up to open an umbrella.
