METHOD AND CHEMICAL FOR INSPECTION OF CHRONIC RESPIRATORY INSUFFICIENCY AND PULMONARY EMPHYSEMA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and definitely diagnose chronic respiratory insufficiency and pulmonary emphysema by measuring the amount of a blood vessel endothelium cell proliferation factor/a blood vessel permeable factor(VPF) which exists in a human blood serum. ;SOLUTION: In an inspection method, chronic respiratory insufficiency and pulmonary emphysema are inspected by measuring the amount of a VPF existing in a human blood serum. As an inspection chemical, an anti-VPF antibody or a VPF acceptor is used. In a labeled immunity method which uses the anti- VPF antibody, a red blood corpuscle, latex, a radioisotope, an enzyme, a luminescent substance, a fluorescent substance, a metal molecule, a metal gel, a bacteriophage or the like is used as a labeling substance. When the chronic respiratory insufficiency is diagnosed by using the inspection method, a difference from a heathy person is made remarkable as compared wit a method in which a venous blood oxygen partial pressure is measured, and the chronic respiratory insufficiency can be diagnosed easily and precisely. In addition, in the diagnostic method, a blood serum is diagnosed. As a result, the method can be used jointly with a venous blood gas analysis, a breast X-ray photograph or the like.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
