PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying soil polluted by volatile pollutants which utilizes the merits of a vacuum extraction method and a microbial purification method, is simple, and does not increases reclamation costs. ;SOLUTION: A pipe is driven into the ground so that its tip reaches a polluted area 19 containing volatile pollutants, and while microorganisms packed into the pipe being activated to be able to decompose the pollutants in the soil, the volatile pollutants are introduced from the polluted area 19 into the pipe by sucking the inside of the pipe to be brought into contact with the microorganisms for purification.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
