METHOD FOR COATING SURFACE OF FAIR-FACED CONCRETE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance decorative properties of the concrete and to surely prevent water from infiltrating into the concrete by coating the surface of fair-faced concrete with a water- repellent, transparent aqueous coating material, performing foundation coating of the coated surface with a silica based inorganic material and pattern forming on this surface with a black coating material and thereafter, further coating the resulting surface with the water- repellent, transparent aqueous coating material. ;SOLUTION: At the time of using the surface of a fair-faced concrete as a unushed surface used for a building that is required from an artistic standpoint, the surface of the fair-faced concrete is generally coated with a protective coating material in order to prevent water from infiltrating into the concrete. In this method, at the time of performing this protective coating, the surface 1 of the fair-faced concrete is coated with a water-repellent, transparent aqueous coating material and also, foundation coating of generated mottled parts (a), defective parts, etc., of the coated surface with a silica based inorganic coating material and forming of a pattern (c) on these parts with a black coating material are performed and thereafter, the resulting surface is further coated with the water-repellent, transparent aqueous coating material. At this time, as the water-repellent, transparent aqueous coating material, a silica based water repellant is appropriately used and a silica based inorganic coating material is suitable for the foundation coating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
