BASE ISOLATION COUPLING STRUCTURE BETWEEN FOUNDATION PILE AND SUBSTRUCTURE

PURPOSE: To aim at the promotion of base isolation coupling between a foundation pile and a substructure. ;CONSTITUTION: Two engaging recess grooves 9 and 12 are installed on outer boundary of the joint end of a foundation pile 1 and a footing joint pipe 2 being connected to this pile. The outside is covered with tubular split rings 3 provided with two projecting strips 13 and 14 on the inner circumference, and these projecting strips 13 and 14 are engaged with two engaging recess grooves 9 and 12, while two elastic rings 17 and 17 are interposed between these grooves, then a clamped ring 4 is fitted to the outside of the tubular split rings 3 and clamped tight. With the fitting between the engaging recess grooves 9, 12 and the projecting strips 13, 14, mechanically firm connection can be made and at the same time bending is allowable to some degree owing to the interposition of these elastic rings 17 and 17.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
