COOPERATION METHOD FOR HEALTH INSURANCE MEDICAL CARE CARD AND ON-LINE DATA BASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the safety the same as before via a health insurance medical care card system that is cooperative with an on-line data base by storing work key information which has been used for the password number applied to the data which are registered in the data base. SOLUTION: When patient data generated at a hospital through medical examination and treatment are registered in a data base, the data are encoded by a work key 114 and registered in the data base. A the same time, an address 112 set in a network 103 for the data storing the encoded patient data is stored in an IC card 107 together with a file name, i.e., an identifier which specifies the data of the data base. Then an authentication code 113 is produced for the data by means of a prescribed hash function and stored in the card 107, so that the data alteration can be detected. The record of the key cipher key obtained by enciphering the key 114 used for encipherment of the data by a card master key 115 is stored at the hospital, i.e., the data owner together with the ID number of the card 107.
