PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biological light-emitting reagent capable of stably maintaining the quantity of emitted light at a high level in a biological light-emitting reaction without attenuating the light emission for a long time, and to provide methods for determining an adenosine phosphate ester and a substance relating to an ATP conversion reaction, respectively, capable of carrying out the determinations in high sensitivities and in high accuracies by using an inexpensive and simple measuring device. ;SOLUTION: This biological light-emitting reagent contains at least pyruvate ortho phosphate dikinase, phosphoenolpyruvic acid, pyrophosphoric acid, magnesium ion or another metal ion, luciferin, and luciferase. This method for determining an adenosine phosphate ester comprises reacting the biological light-emitting reagent with a specimen containing the adenosine phosphate ester and measuring the quantity of the emitted light. This method for determining a substance related to an ATP- converting system comprises adding the biological light-emitting reagent to the ATP converting system and measuring the quantity of the emitted light.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
