FIBER-REINFORCED RUBBER COMPOSITION AND ARAMIDE SHORT FIBER FOR REINFORCING RUBBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition small in the dynamic friction coefficient between a rubber composition and aramide short fibers, capable of dispersing strain stresses caused by repeated deformations, substantially not generating cracks, excellent in durability and useful for vibration rubbers, etc., by reinforcing the rubber composition with the specific aramide short fibers. ;SOLUTION: A rubber composition is reinforced with short aramide fibers having a dynamic friction coefficient of ≤2.0 between the fibers and the rubber composition, such as polyparaphenylene terephthalamide short fibers or polymetaphenylene isophthalamide short fibers (e.g. the short fibers to whose surfaces a fluororesin is adhered in an amount of 1-20wt.% based on the weight of the fibers).
