MEASURE IN SNOWFALL ELIMINATION ON WATER-PERMEABLE CEMENT CONCRETE PAVED FACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the frozen condition of a pavement by using the water- permeability of a water-permeable cement concrete pavement to transmit hot air from the lower side of the pavement into the surface of warming the pavement itself and to exhaust the hot air from the surface of the pavement. ;SOLUTION: After a roadbed or a subbase are formed and before a water- permeable cement concrete pavement is constructed, a hot air flow path is placed on the lower side of the water-permeable cement concrete pavement, which is provided with a blowout port to blow hot gas toward the surface of the pavement. Then, the water-permeable cement concrete pavement is constructed on the flow path. Hot air blown out of the blowout port is fed from the subbase to the lower side of the pavement, filled on the lower side of the pavement and exhausted from the surface of the pavement. In this way, the frozen or snow-covered condition of the water-permeable cement concrete pavement is prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
