PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sense the water permeation into an embankment, etc., automatically. ;SOLUTION: An elastic wave oscillator 1 is coupled with an elastic wave sensor 2 by a wave guide 3. The elastic wave emitted by the oscillator 1 is transmitted through the wave guide 3 and sensed by the sensor 2. An elastic wave signal sensed by the sensor 2 is amplified by an amplifier 4 and fed to a control part 5. The elastic wave signal from a source 1 as the output of the control part 5 is fed to a monitor part 100, which performs calculation and display of the water permeating situation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
