KANJI (CHINESE CHARACTER) EXPLAINING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a natural synthesized speech by automatically generating sentences explaining KANJIs of explanation objects individually while using the dictionary of idiomatic phrases, etc. SOLUTION: Idiomatic phrases including KANJIs of explanation objects are extracted (S2) by receiving the KANJIs of the explanation objects (S1) and by using a dictionary in which plural declarations, readings, parts of speech and accent information corresponding to respective wordings are collected. Then, explanation phrases of the KANJIs of the explanation objects are generated by determining positions of the inputted KANJIs of the explanation objects in the declarations of the extracted idiomatic phrases (S3) and by obtaining readings of the determined KANJIs and readings of idiomatic phrases based on the determined positions of the KANJIs. Explanations of the KANJIs arc outputted by generating phonemic information represented by the readings corresponding to pertinent positions of the KANJIs and phonemic information represented by accents while making them correspond to the explanation sentences (S5) and by performing a speech synthesis based on the phonemic information and rythm information of the explanation sentences (S5). Thus, sentences explaining the KANJIs individually are automatically generated.
