Method of processing a silver halide color photographic material that enables rapid development

A process for color-developing silver halide color photographic material having a plurality of silver halide emulsion layers. Silver halide contained in said plurality of silver halide emulsion layers is substantially silver chlorobromide with the content of silver chloride in at least one of the layers being not less than 20 mol %, and the color developer to be used for color development contains a compound represented by general formula (I). This process enables color photographic images with a sufficient color density to be obtained by rapid development, and the color developer has excellent long-term preservability.
