PURPOSE:To fasten a hook for fishing a cuttlefish in an optional position on a fishing line, by holding the fishing line in a cut of shaft for hook for fishing cuttlefish and then covering an umbrella hook on the peripheral face of the shaft in a method for engaging the hook for fishing the cuttlefish with the fishing line. CONSTITUTION:A cut is provided in a cylindrical shaft 2 fitted for inside diameter of an umbrella hook and made of synthetic resin so as to be capable of opening the shaft into two parts and a fishing line 4 is held in the cut and the umbrella hook 1 is covered on the peripheral face of the shaft 2 in which the cut is closed and the cut is pressed to unit the shaft 2 with the fishing line 4. An artificial bait is united to the upper part of the shaft to provide a hook for fishing cuttlefish. When an engaging piece holding part is provided inside the shaft 2 and an engaging piece consisting of a coil spring having inside diameter smaller than that of fishing line is inserted, engagement of the shaft 2 with the fishing line 4 is made more certain.
