PURPOSE:To freely attain the switch between the write inhibition and permission states with a medium kept stored by providing a protection executing means, a write permission executing means, a write protection register means and a mount processing write protection control means. CONSTITUTION:A write protection register means 5 designates a desired medium to be inhibited and a desired medium to which the write is permitted and therefore turns on and off a write inhibition flag. A mount processing protection control means 7 is called every time when the mount processing is carried out to load a medium into an input/output device, therefore refers to a write inhibition flag by means of a write inhibition flag reference means 6 for the medium to be loaded. Thus means 7 inhibits the write to the input/output device to be loaded by means of a write protection executing means 3 when the write inhibition flag is kept ON. Then the write is permitted to the input/output device by means of a write permission executing means 4 when the write inhibition flag is kept OFF respectively.
