The invention relates to compounds of the formula IMAGE in which the dashed line denotes a saturated bond or an olefinic bond, R1 and R4 are in each case hydrogen or C1-4-alkyl, and R2 and R3 are in each case hydrogen, C1-6-alkyl, halogen, C1-6-alkoxy or C1-6-alkylthio, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, to pharmaceutical compounds which comprise them, to processes for preparing the abovementioned compounds, and to novel intermediates in the preparation of the abovementioned compounds. These compounds can be used as agents in connection with preventing neuronal brain damage which is a consequence of cerebral ischaemia and in connection with the progress of Alzheimer's disease and also as anticonvulsants.
