A description is given of a device for stretching uppers in pulling-over and lasting machines. The device 1 comprises a supporting structure 2 that supports centrally a last 3 on which an upper 4 is fitted for stretching. Around an outer edge 3a of the last 3 act a toe clamp 9, two front clamps 13 and two series of side clamps 11. Each of the front clamps 10 is carried by a corresponding moving plate 13 hinged on a first axis 13 and moved by a first hydraulic actuator 17. Also, each series of side clamps 11 is supported by a corresponding second moving plate 14 hinged to the first plate 13 on a second axis 22 and displaced, with respect to the first plate 13, via a second actuator 24.
