Device for measuring torque, especially for a motor reduction gear unit which activates a functional element of a vehicle

The device measures the torque exerted by a permanent-magnet motor (1) whose shaft (2) drives an endless-thread screw (3) in mesh with a gear wheel (4). An elastically deformable washer (5) e.g. of trapezoidal section, with radial protrusions (25) co-operating with studs (27) on the inside of the gear wheel, couples the latter to the output gearing (6). Angular displacements of the wheel and gearing are measured by encoders (9,10) employing wipers (11,12) on coded tracks (13,14) around a fixed position-encoding disc (15).
