FIELD: materials handling machinery; safeguards. SUBSTANCE: elastic member (force transmitter) of overload safeguard is made in form of hollow cylinder 1 of constant or variable rigidity. Resistance strain gauges 5 are installed on inner surface of cylinder in zone of action of measured loads and are connected into bridge circuit signal from which is supplied to electronic threshold device 9. The latter is arranged, similar to resistance strain gauges, in inner space of cylinder which is closed from ends by hermetic stoppers 7, 8. Inner space of cylinder can be filled with viscous liquid or grease with high insulating properties to provide protection from vibration and increase reliability and accuracy of operation of overload safeguard.
