In a process to regenerate adsorbers (1) or adsorption plants, liquid gaseous desorption agent from a cryogenic storage tank is vapourised. This is brought to an appropriate temperature and passed through the adsorption material in the adsorber (1). On leaving the adsorption plant the laden gas is supplied to a heat exchanger (9) for separation. Also claimed is apparatus to carry out the process, having appropriate pipework, liquid nitrogen storage vessel (6), heater (5), compressor and valve to release excess gas (14).
