Fungal strains of the class of Deuteromycetes and Ascomycetes, with reduced catabolite repression w.r.t. the enzymes which they produce, are claimed. Also claimed is the increased prodn. of extracellular enzymes by above mentioned fungi, comprising submerged cultivation of the fungi by electro-stimulation in a culture medium contg. carbon-, nitrogen-sources and mineral salts. The enzymes are then recovered.
