A method for the production of refractory bricks easily

The invention relates to a process for producing temperature-resistant ceramic lightweight bricks using semi-dry shaping. The lightweight building material comprises an inorganic, porous aggregate, preferably lightweight schamotte, and a binder based on clay and iron-rich aluminium silicates, with a large number of pores generated by constituents which burn out and/or are volatile being present in its structure. The total porosity is between 50 and 70 %. The process leads, compared with known production technologies, to an increase in the use temperature, to a decrease in the shrinkage and to a shortening of the drying time required. Bulk densities between 0.8 and 1.3 g/cm3 can be achieved. IMAGE
