The headlamp is mounted (3) with the aid of bolts clamping an inner curved plate (5) and an outer curved plate (4) to the part-spherical headlamp shell. When the bolts are loosened the aim of the head lamp can be altered, then held in the required position by re-tightening the bolts. The outer plate extends over the width of the headlamp, and carries a bolt to fix the headlamp to the bodywork of the vehicle. The clamping and mounting assembly is placed below the horizontal median plane of the headlamp.
