ENVIRONMENTAL PURIFYING BODY, ENVIRONMENTAL PURIFYING METHOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL PURIFYING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental purifying body and an environmental purifying device capable of purifying wide range environmental elements such as a lake, a marsh and the atmosphere in a large quantity by using radioactive rays. ;SOLUTION: A purifying body 38 is provided with an inner radiation source layer 40 emitting radioactive rays and an outer catalyst layer 42 covering the inner radiation source layer 40. The outer catalyst layer 42 generates active species decomposing a contaminant by receiving the radioactive rays from the inner radiation source layer 40. Here, a positive hole of an electron positive hole pair formed in the outer catalyst layer and an activated oxidizing body such as a hydroxide radical formed by oxidizing a surrounding water molecule or the like by the positive hole are contained in the generated active species. The active species have storing oxidation power, the contaminant is oxidized and decomposed by the oxidation power and environmental elements are purified.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
