PIGMENT FOR PRODUCING PURPLE CERAMIC DECORATION, PRODUCTION OF THE PIGMENT AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain the subject pigment capable of presenting stable and glossy purple color at a high temperature by using a specific supporting material, an oxide hydrate and a gold compound as a basic agent, thus useful for a ceramic coloring material, wall and tile coloring material. ;SOLUTION: This pigment comprises (A) a bakable minute supporting material, (B) an oxide hydrate of Al, Si, Sn, Pb, Ti, Zr, Nb, Ta, Sc, Y, La, Ce or Zn and (C) a water-insoluble gold (tri or monovalent) compound (C₁) or colloidal gold (C₂). The weight ratio of A/B is 10 to 0.1 in terms of an oxide, and the gold content is 0.05 to 10wt.%. The pigment is obtained by coprecipitating the ingredients B and C in the presence of the ingredient A in an aqueous or aqueous organic phase and in the absence of a reducing agent for the gold compound, using a solution containing a soluble gold compound or C₂, a soluble compound of a metal in the ingredient B and a precipitant. When C₁ contained in the coprecipitate is to be changed to C₂, the pigment is obtained by reducing the coprecipitate following the coprecipitation using an ordinary reducing agent, or by pyrolysis of the coprecipitate at 100 to 300°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
