PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out the correct relative humidity of the gas contained in a sealed container even when the gas of the container and the saturated aqueous solution have different temperatures and are not balanced with each other by adding a means into the container to measure the temperatures of both gas and saturated aqueous solution. ;SOLUTION: The saturated aqueous solution 2 of sodium chloride is surely saturated since the solid contents of sodium chloride remain. Then the temperatures of the gas and the solution 2 are measured by the platinum temperature detectors 3 and 4. The detector 3 is placed near a humidity sensor 5. Thus, it is possible to decide the saturated vapor pressure from the gas temperature, to decide the vapor pressure from the temperature of the solution 2 and then decide the relative humidity from both saturated vapor pressure and vapor pressure even when the gas and the solution 2 have different temperatures in a sealed container and accordingly are not balanced with each other. As a result, a constant humidity device using the solution 2 of sodium chloride can be used even in a normal environment without using any constant temperature oven nor chamber.
