WATER REPELLENCE SUPPRESSION TYPE PEAT-MOSS AND MATERIAL FOR AGRICULTURE AND HORTICULTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide peat-moss which may be preserved and used in the state of suppressing water repellence for a long period of time and has excellent preservable stability and a material for agriculture and horticulture having the same. SOLUTION: This peat-moss has the ether bond of a copolymerized state obtd. by ring opening polymn. of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in its structure and is treated by a nonionic surfactant having hydroxyl groups at both terminals or having the hydroxyl group at one end and having an alkoxy group at the other end. The peat-moss is used for manufacturing the material for agriculture and horticulture by compounding the peat-moss with compounded raw materials, such as soil and minerals.
