If, for example, the liquid 3 is the water, the water freezes and expands when the atmospheric temp. falls to ≤0°C. The cap 2 is loosened or extruded by the expansion. The frozen ice 3 is thawed and is run out of the vessel 1 when the atmospheric temp. attains ≥0°C.
