PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently prevent an offset from occurring and thereby obtain a high quality image free from irregularities of image density and filling-up by specifying the pressure loss of air present internally in a sintered sheet consisting of a metal. ;SOLUTION: This plate cylinder 1 is constituted of a porous support plate 1b with an opening 1a and an ink retaining member 15 wound around the outer surface of the porous support plate 1. In addition, the ink retaining member 15 comprises a stinered sheet of unwoven fabric consisting of a metal fiber 15a such as stainless steel, iron, copper, nickel, titanium or aluminum, and has an ink flow path through which ink passes for the diffusion, retention and extrusion of the ink. The ink retaining member 15 is a sintered sheet of stainless steel fiber with a basis weight of 100g/m². Further, the internal air pressure loss of the sintered sheet is set to 5.0-23.2mmAq, preferably 7.9-23.2mmAq by changing the fiber diameter and thickness (calendering throughput) of the sintered sheet.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
