PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally conduct an image pickup and a recording operation even after a file system is revised by using an external device. ;SOLUTION: This digital camera is provided with a recording means 1105 rewritable by a digital camera controller connected to an external device and an information storage means 1103 storing information relating to the recording means 1105. In this case, the information relating to the recording means 1105 is updated by reflecting the content of the recording means 1105 based on a request from the digital camera controller to allow content of the recording means 1105 to always reflect on the information storage means 1103 in the case of image pickup or communication.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
