METHOD FOR EXPANSION OF MALE CAT'S URETHRA AND FOR REMOVAL OF URETHRAL CALCULUS, AND HAND TUBE HOLDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat a male cat's urination disorder as quick as possible by safely and securely removing calculus which blocks the urethra of the cat by single veterinarian. ;SOLUTION: A semifluid material such as jelly or ointment is gradually injected into the urethra cavity of a male cat to tentatively form an alien substance made of this semifluid material larger than a calculus. By physically expanding the urethra cavity before the calculus with this alien substance, the blocking calculus can be separated from the urethra wall. After that, the bladder of the male cat is clasped by fingers from above the cat's skin, and the calculus will be forced to be extracted from the urinary meatus to the outside by jetting force of urine caused by pressing the bladder. An injection tube 3 is connected to the mouthpiece of a tube 2 as the case for the semifluid material. By fixing the tube 2 at a hand tube holder 1 and squeezing out the semifluid material by a grip of one hand, a calculus can be removed. In this way, the urethra expanding operation to remove a calculus can be carried out by simple veterinarian.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
