HANDRAIL NEWEL POST FOR BRIDGE AND METHOD FOR EXECUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a newel post for bridge handrail to be installed at each end of a bridge, wherein easy execution of works is ensured and stable strength is furnished. ;SOLUTION: The base 2 of each handrail newel post for a bridge is screwed fast to an anchor bolt 3 buried in the ground firmly, and a reinforcing stay 4 is installed upright on the base 2, wherein a newel post body 1 made of non- metal inorganic material bored with a plumb through hole is mounted on the stay 4, and a holder plate 7 is contacted from the top of the newel post body 1 so that it is attached to the stay 4. Accordingly the stay 4 is installed upright by the anchor bolt 3 embedded in the ground such as ground covering of the bridge, so that there is no need to apply a particular working for newel post installation to the ground covering, etc., of the bridge, and because the stay 4 is inserted through the newel body 1, instability in the strength or insufficient toughness as the weak point of a natural stone are complemented with this reinforcing stay 4 to allow accomplishment of stable strength.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
