PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the welding crack resistance of a can, etc., the corrosion crack resistance and the mechanical strength by using an Al-Mg-Ag base alloy filler material of a specific composition at the time of welding of an Al alloy material. ;SOLUTION: The composition of this filler material contains, by weight, 3 to 6% Mg, 0.3 to 2.0% Ag and the remainder essentially Al. Further, when the occasion demands, it is added with at least more than one kind among ≤0.2% Ti, ≤0.08% B, ≤0.2% Zn, ≤2.0% rare earth element or/and more than one kind among ≤1.5% Mn, ≤0.6% Cr, ≤0.5% Vi, ≤3.0% N, and ≤0.5% Mn. The joint tensile strength with this filler material reaches as high as 350N/mm, however the composition of the filler material is selected suitably according to the kind and the strength of the Al alloy to be welded.
