PURPOSE: To obtain an ester composition capable of giving polymers with excellent heat resistance, impact resistance and flexibility, useful as e.g. an overcoating agent, by reacting an unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid with a mixture of high-carbon aliphatic diol and triol. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective ester composition is obtained by reacting (A) a mixture of (1) 30-97wt.% of a 22C aliphatic diol's unsaturated carboxylic acid ester and (2) 3-70wt.% of a 33C aliphatic triol with (B) an unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid or a lower alkyl ester thereof. It is preferable that, for the components A and B, compounds of formula I and formula II [R⁴ is a 22C aliphatic hydrocarbon chain;R⁵ and R⁶ each is H or an unsaturate carboxylic acid residue of formula III (R¹-R³ each H or a lower alkyl; (n) is 0 or 1), at least one of them an unsaturated carboxylic acid residue; R⁷ is a 33C aliphatic hydrocarbon chain; R⁸ to R¹⁰ each is H or of formula III] be used, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
