PURPOSE:To calculate and learn a probability distribution on a character string on finite English letters. CONSTITUTION:Those devices consist of an input character string storage part 101 which stores an input character string, a tree grammar storage part 102 which stores a set of rules for rewriting nodes in a labeled tree structure by a parttree structure rewritten by a part tree structure of the same rank, a syntax array storage part 103 which stores information on a partial syntax analysis as an array, an array completion decision part 106 which decides whether or not the calculation of the array of syntax analysis information is completed, an array element calculation part 105 which calculates elements of the array specified with suffix, a suffix update part 104 which updates the subscripts specifying the elements of the array to be calculated, and an output part 107 which outputs the decision.
