PURPOSE: To provide a heat monitoring device in which a coefficient of heat transfer is changed with a slight controlling electrical power and a superior thermal efficiency can be attained with a heat transfer control member. ;CONSTITUTION: A heat transfer control member 2 is comprised of electrical viscous fluid 5 stored within a container, electrodes 61, 62 for applying an electrical field to the fluid 5, and a power supply 7 for applying variable voltage to the electrodes 61, 62, respectively, wherein a coefficient of heat transfer of the electrical viscous fluid 5 is varied by changing a size of the electrical field applied to the heat transfer control member 2. The member 2 is arranged outside a reaction tank 1, for example, and a heating device 3 is arranged outside the member 2, the heating device 3 is operated when the reaction tank 1 shows a lower temperature than its predetermined temperature and is not operated when the temperature is increased higher than its predetermined temperature. The heat transfer control member 2 is constructed such that when the reaction tank 1 shows a lower temperature than its predetermined temperature, a value of voltage applied to the electrode is varied, its coefficient of heat transfer is changed from its low value to high value, and when its temperature is increased higher than the predetermined temperature, a value of voltage applied to the electrode is varied and its coefficient of heat transfer is changed from its high value to a low value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
