PURPOSE:To easily and exactly align the inclination of an optical axis in a laser light flux to a guide rail by executing the optical axis alignment of an optical system for optical information recording and reproducing device while observing the laser light flux, which is emitted from a laser light source and reflected on the reflection surface of a jig for optical axis alignment, by an automatic collimator. CONSTITUTION:When alignment is completed and the laser light flux is emitted from a laser diode 11, the laser light flux is reflected on a reference reflection surface 303 and the direction is changed to a beam splitter 20. Then, the laser light flux is made incident on an automatic collimator optical system 350 and observed by a rough alignment monitor 381 and a fine adjustment monitor 382. At first, while observing the light flux by the rough alignment monitor 381, the posture of a laser pen 10 or a fixed prism 15, for example, is changed and the inclination of the optical axis in the laser light flux from the laser diode 11 is roughly aligned. Next, while observing the light flux by the fine alignment monitor 382, the posture of the laser pen 10 or fixed prism 15 is further changed and the inclination of the optical axis in the laser light flux is aligned fine. Thus, the inclination of the optical axis to the guide rail can be easily and exactly adjusted.
