TSUZUMI (JAPANESE HAND DRUM) SABLE NOT ONLY FOR PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT BUT ALSO FOR MULTIPURPOSE, SUCH AS CONTAINER, ORNAMENT, GIFT, LEGLESS CHAIR, AND PILLOW

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a Tsuzumi (Japanese hand drum) usable not only as a percussion instrument bus as daily goods, such as containers, ornaments, gifts, legless chairs and pillows as well by superposing a body-shell made of a synthetic resin and a drumhead frame made of artificial leather on each other and attaching cords to holes for passing tuning cords made of chemical fibers. SOLUTION: At the time of forming the Tsuzumi, the drum-shell 5 is made of cherry wood lacquered with gold and silver, the drumhead 2 is made of iron framed hose skin and the tuning cords are made of jute cords, etc. Not only such high-grade and costly materials, but also synthetic resins, artificial leather and chemical fibers which are easily and inexpensively available are used as the materials. The body-shell 5 and the drumhead frame 6 are superposed on each other and the cords are attached to the holes 4 to be passed with the tuning cords. These drums are mainly used for the containers, legless chairs and pillows. In the case of the legless chairs, the tuning cords play the role of springs to support the body weight of one person, thereby stabilizing the seating. The drums are also used as the percussion instruments, ornaments and gifts. The drums are weak to external pressures but are elegant in appearance and permit the adjustment of tones as well. Then, the drums are capable of bringing about tenderness and richness in home.
