PURPOSE: To monitor the execution state of a program even when an infinite loop is formed by plural branch instructions while eliminating the need to set a break point and a limit value for judging whether it is the infinite loop or not. ;CONSTITUTION: This system has a branching history storage part 210 which stores a history of branching, a program execution means 110 which executes the program, an interruption acceptance means 120 which accepts an interruption indicating that branching is detected, and a retrieval means 130 which retrieves whether or not the generated branching is already registered in the branching history storage part 210. Further, this system has a registering means 140 which newly registers the generated branching unless the generated branching is registered in the branching history storage part 210, an interruption end means 150 which informs the program execution means 110 of the end of the interruption so as to restart the program, and an editing means 160 which edits the contents stored in the branching history storage part 210 and displays the result on a display device 400.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
