PURPOSE:To form annual ringed grain patterns of a natural tree tone by forming pattern layers using the printing ink containing liquid repellent substance on pattern print layers expressive of a spring wood part of all the wood grain print layers and then applying a top coat to this printed layer. CONSTITUTION:With respect to a decorative substrate 5, on the surface of which wood grain print layers expressive of spring and autumn wood parts 3 and 4 are formed, pattern layers 6 are formed using the printing ink containing water repellent substance (e.g. silicone) on the pattern print layers expressive of the spring wood part 3 alone of the aforesaid wood grain print layers. A top coat 7 is then applied to the aforesaid print layers. As a result, both a glossy autumn wood part and a dull spring wood part can give a faithful expression of the annual ringed grain of a natural tree tone.
