PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce any fluctuation generated in a pump site by decreasing the exciting force itself by forming a water passage in such configuration to make the natural frequency of the water column inside a water passage with its frequency apart from an exciting frequency generated from a pump or installing the pump near the joint of a vibratory pressure mode generated in the water passage. ;SOLUTION: An excited frequency kNZ of a pump is found from a pump specification (number of impeller 11 N and its number of revolution Z)(103) and the proper frequency f of variation pressure inside a water passage in a water passage configuration is found by means of a finite element method (104). kNZ and f are compared with each other (105) and if kNZ is close to f, possibility of change of the pump specification and the water passage configuration is judged (106) and when change is possible, the pump specification and the water passage configuration are changed again. When the change thereof is impossible, a pump is installed in the position of the joint of the fluctuation pressure mode of the water column inside of the water passage (107) so that any fluctuated pressure inside of the water passage may not take place. Namely, by reducing the exciting force itself, the vibration in the pump site can be suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
