The frame (5) is to be fitted on the fixed roof surface by assembly means having at least one rotatable member (11) interacting with a counter-member (10) to mount the frame at a variable height on the fixed roof. The rotatable member is secured on the frame by a securing member (15) mounted between rotatable member and frame and secured in the axial extension direction relative to both the frame and rotatable member. The securing member is elastically deformable and preferably comprises an elastic ring set in a circumferential groove (16) in one of the two parts and interacting with a radial projection in the relevant other part. The projection can be conical on its insert side to pass through the securing member.
