Service information transmission method for intelligent network

The method involves an information request incorporating a list of information units which are defined for the respective entity. The result of the information request is sent from the calling entity (SSP) to the called entity (SCP) and incorporates a list of coded information units. The coding of the information units occurs in accordance with a standard, e.g. ASN.1. The request for information connected with a service is sent by the entities, and concerns a service which is to be activated from the called entity to the calling entity. A protocol is used which includes an operation for requesting service information, which is an augmented INAP protocol. The called entity is a service control unit and the calling entity is a coupling unit.
