METHOD OF RAISING SEA-WATER FISH, DISPLAY TANK FOR SEA-WATER FISH AND TANK SYSTEM FOR RAISING SEA-WATER FISH

A method of raising sea-water fish is performed byraising the sea-water fish in water in a display tank whichincludes a device for circulating the water in the tank, afiltering material supporting plate having a sand-likefiltering material containing calcium therein. In thiscase, the grain size of the sand-like filtering material isset between 2.5 - 3.5 mm. Coral sand is preferably used asthe sand-like material, since it promotes the propagation ofaerobic bacteria and converts ammonia and nitric acid toharmless materials and the above grain size exhibits bettereffect. This method can be performed by a display tanksystem including a tank for storing the water therein, abottom filtering sections including the coral sand anexternal filtering system disposed outside the tank a feed-out tube for feeding the water in the tank to the externalfiltering system, and a mechanism for circulating the waterwhich has been filtered by the bottom filtering sectionthrough the feed-out tube and the external filtering systeminto the tank again. The feed-out tube can be provided witha bypass mechanism for feeding the water in the tank to theexternal filtering system directly without passing thebottom filtering section.FIGURE 1
