The method involves cutting and sewing doubled piece of elastic to form three tubes which are sewn together and filled with elastic stuffing to form cylindrical shaped spiral body. A fabric which is elastic in one direction and has a fluffy or velvet side is folded double with the fluffy side facing inwards, then a roughly oval piece of fabric is cut out or punched, having an inner circular opening concentric to the outer periphery (2) of the piece, so that the small axis (3) of the oval extends in the elastic direction of the fabric. A second piece of fabric is sewn around the outer periphery along a first stretch between two points arranged symmetrically with respect to the large axis and along a second stretch between two further points, after which a wedge shape is cut out of the piece with its tip on the inner periphery, forming a second fabric tube with two open ends and openings along the first stretch. A third fabric tube is made in the same way as the first tube. The second tube is placed with one of its open ends against the open end of the first tube, edge seam to edge seam, so that the second tube covers the first tube, and then these two tubes are sewn together. The third tube is placed with its open end against the other open end of the second tube, edge seam to edge seam, so that the third tube covers the first and second tubes, and then the second and third tubes are sewn together. The tubes are pulled outwards and in through the openings in the first stretch described above, so that the fluffy side faces outwards. An elastic stuffing is pressed in through the openings until the tubes ar e full, creating an elongated cylindrical shaped body which is distorted into a spiral with at least two turns, after which the openings are sewn together.
