A method for compensating for steering angle errorin a fully-hydraulic steering system and afully-hydraulic system are proposed, in which, ondisplacement of a steering handwheel (5), a steeringhandwheel angle and a steering motor angle and also thesteering handwheel speed are ascertained, and the fluidflow between a steering control device (4) and asteering motor (8) is changed in dependence on thesteering angle error.With such a method, and with a steering system ofthis kind, the comfort of an operator when steering isto be increased despite steering angle errorcompensation.For that purpose, in the method, is effected atevery steering handwheel speed and every steering angleerror, the change of the fluid flow being performed independence on the steering handwheel speed and thesteering angle error. In the steering system, amultiplier (24) is provided which multiplies theoutputs of the difference-generating means and thedifferentiator together, the output of the multiplierbeing connected by way of a proportional element (25)to a valve control device (26) connected to passsignals to the valve arrangement.
