The present invention discloses nucleic acid molecules encodinggenes involved in CNS disorders such as Alzheimer's disease andepilepsy. Also disclosed are gene products, vectors and host cellssuitable for expression of such gene products. Methods are providing fordetecting the presence of a genes involved in Alzheimer's disease inhuman subjects and for treating humans suffering from Alzheimer'sdisease. Furthermore, markers which are associated with Alzheimer'sdisease are disclosed. Methods in kits for the detection of Alzheimerdisease in a subject are additionally provided.
